Snooze-tastic Animals

Here at Sleeptight we’ve decided that if there is such a thing as reincarnation then we’d like to come back as bats, or maybe giant armadillos.

Strange choices you might think. Why not something wild and scary like a tiger? Or a pod of dolphins swimming through the waves?

Simple. According to the Guinness Book of World Records the humble little brown bat is the king of the nappers.

It lives in North America, and has been documented sleeping for a straight 19.9 hours stretch! That’s more than 80% of the day.

And you thought your teenagers were bad?!

Then there’s our friend the giant armadillo. They can press the old snooze button for up to 18.1 hours at a time – a mere 75.4% of the day.

Down under, the cuddly Koala gets plenty of shut eye. Up to 18 hours a day.

Apparently, it’s down to all those eucalyptus leaves. That high fibre diet takes a long time to digest.

At the other end of the scale, the magnificent African elephant exists on very little sleep at all. As little as two hours a night.

I suppose it’s difficult to find a bed that’s big and comfy enough!

That’s not a problem you’ll find here at Sleeptight. We have beds, mattresses, pillows and everything else you need to make sure you get the sleep you deserve.

We know that there’s more to buying a bed than ‘one-size-fits-all,’ everybody is an individual with different needs, health matters and sleep patterns.

Whether you are a bat or an elephant, come and see us in store, speak to us and let us find the perfect bed or mattress for you, so we can all dream the same dream of a perfect night’s sleep every night.
